Creating public art is both an honor and responsibility.

For three large public commissions I designed and built fountains in public parks. My intent was to make places where people would linger and interact with each other. Seating areas were integral to the designs. I created spaces to be both playful and meditative, where people could be surrounded by flowing water.

Generous use of color helps draw people to my pieces, especially children. It also provides a contrast to the gray alienating atmosphere that pervades so many of our contemporary public places. I used images in each piece that were relevant to the culture, nature and history of the area.
